Button Eye Review

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Button Eye Review is a literary magazine and an imprint of Ember Chasm Review. We're looking for stories and poetry within the genres of horror, Gothic, dark fantasy, dark science fiction, thriller, crime, and mystery. We want the stories that bury themselves under dead leaves and gravel, the ones that you can only find if you go through the locked door, the strange crawl space, see the glint in the woods and explore what made it.

To get a sense of what we enjoy reading, look to the films of Ari Aster, Jordan Peele, and Robert Eggers. We also love the writing of Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, Mary Shelley, and Joe Hill, and the video games The Last of Us, Outlast, and Condemned.

Though Button Eye only accepts previously unpublished work, we are happy to review simultaneous submissions. Just let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere. We accept submissions year round and publish up to two stories and two poems per month. Unfortunately, to cover the costs of production, we must charge a small submission fee. When we can, we’ll offer free submissions.
